Learn how to use posts to submit feedback

Overview

Posts are the core building blocks of feedback in Votonic. They allow users to submit ideas, discuss suggestions, and track feature requests in an organized way.

Creating Posts

Posts can be created in two ways:

  1. Web Interface: Users can create posts directly through Votonic's web interface
  2. Discord: Posts can be submitted using Discord commands (see Discord Integration)

Post Features

Boards

All posts are organized within boards, which help categorize different types of feedback. Posts will appear on their respective board's page where they can be viewed and interacted with by the community.

Voting

Users can vote on posts to indicate their interest or support for the feedback. This helps prioritize which posts are most important to the community.

Comments

Posts can receive comments from users, allowing for discussion and clarification. Moderators can pin important comments to keep them visible at the top.

Status Labels

Posts can be tagged with status labels that indicate their current state. Some examples of default status labels include:

  • Open
  • Under Review
  • Planned
  • In Progress
  • Done

Status labels help keep users informed about the progress of their feedback.

Post Management

As a moderator, you have several tools to manage posts:

  • Merging: Combine duplicate posts to consolidate discussion and votes
  • Moving: Transfer posts between boards if they fit better in a different category
  • Status Updates: Update post status to reflect current progress
  • Comment Pinning: Highlight important comments by pinning them to the top

Viewing Posts

Posts can be viewed in several ways:

  1. Board View: Browse posts within their respective boards
  2. Roadmap View: See posts organized by their status labels
  3. Search: Find specific posts using the search functionality
